News: 10-year-old killed, 4 hospitalized after 3-vehicle crash in Lawrence Co.

LAWRENCE CO., AR – A 10-year-old child was killed and four other individuals were sent to the hospital following a major 3-vehicle crash in Lawrence County yesterday.

According to a report by KAIT, the crash took place at about 5:16 p.m along Highway 63.

Investigators believe a Nissan Maxima driven by 36-year-old Matthew Simmons was passing a GMC pickup truck when it struck the front passenger’s side of the pickup.

The Nissan skidded across the road where it collided with a Northbound Dodge Durango before overturning into a roadside ditch.

A 10-year-old passenger in the Nissan suffered fatal injuries. Simmons and two other passengers, including an 11-year-old, were hospitalized with unknown injuries.

The driver of the Dodge was also take n to the hospital. His condition unclear at this time.
