News: 17-year-old driver killed when vehicle crashes into tree in Fort Smith

FORT SMITH, AR – A car accident in Sebastian County Sunday killed a 17-year-old driver, according to a report by KNWA/KFTA.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the crash on Tennessee Ridge Road in Fort Smith after it was reported at about 2 a.m.

Investigators determined that the driver had failed to turn for a curve and the vehicle ran off the road, where it crashed into a tree.  The victim, a resident of Greenwood, was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital in Fort Smith.  He was in his senior year of high school.
