PINE BLUFF, AR – A driver died following a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 530 last week, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Arkansas State Police identified the victim as 42-year-old Joshua Eli Waschalk of Pine Bluff.  Investigators said he was driving south on I-530 in a 2018 Mazda when the crash occurred as he approached the Saline County line.

The state police crash report said Waschalk drove off the road onto a median and went down an embankment.  The vehicle ended up a creek, and Waschalk suffered fatal injuries.

DREW COUNTY, AR – Authorities said a child trying to catch a bus in Drew County Thursday morning was hit by a vehicle.

According to KATV, the incident occurred on Highway 425 North at about 6:15 a.m.  The Drew County Sheriff’s Office said a 10-year-old was trying to cross the highway to get on a school bus and was struck by a vehicle’s side-view mirror.

Deputies responded to the scene of the incident and transported the child to Drew Memorial Hospital in Little Rock.  The victim was reported to have sustained several broken bones but was expected to make a full recovery.

FAULKNER COUNTY, AR – A driver died after his vehicle was involved in a rollover crash in Faulkner County on Saturday afternoon, Arkansas State Police said.

According to The Daily Citizen, 48-year-old David F. Vanderslice was driving a Chevy Cruze on Arkansas Highway 107 in the Enola area shortly before 4 p.m. when he went off the right side of the roadway.  Troopers said the vehicle overturned, crashed into a fence and ended up on its roof.

Vanderslice, a Mount Vernon resident, sustained fatal injuries in the wreck  It happened on a wet roadway, police said.

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR – Arkansas State Police said two pickup trucks were involved in a fatal collision in Craigshead County over the weekend.

According to KAIT, the accident happened Saturday evening at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 135 at about 6:50 p.m.  State troopers said the driver of a Dodge Ram was going west on Highway 18 when he crossed over the center line and crashed into a Chevy Silverado that was headed east.

The driver of the Chevy, 53-year-old Bobby Benson Towery of Manila, suffered fatal injuries. The Dodge driver, 36-year-old Christopher Allen Ellis of Brookland, and a passenger, 40-year-old Jennifer McDorman of Paragould, were hospitalized but no details were released on the extent of their injuries.

FULTON COUNTY, AR – Arkansas State Police said a driver was killed in a two-car collision in Fulton County last week.

According to KTLO, the victim was identified as 54-year-old Timothy Williams of Harrison.

State troopers said Williams was driving a GMC east on U.S. 62 near Argos Wednesday when the accident occurred at about 4:45 p.m. The GMC crossed over the center line and crashed into a Dodge traveling westbound on the highway.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR – Three vehicles were involved in a fatal collision on Highway 67 early Wednesday morning, according to KAIT.

Arkansas State Police said the driver of a GMC Yukon was headed north at about 12:25 a.m. when she attempted to pass another northbound vehicle, a Freightliner.  The Yukon crashed head-on into a Volvo tractor-trailer that was headed south, then hit the driver’s side of the Freightliner.

The driver of the Yukon, 25-year-old Megan Crawford of Ravenden Springs, was killed in the wreck. A passenger in her vehicle, 30-year-old Shane Owens of Powhatan, was hospitalized.

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Arkansas State Police say a car accident on Interstate 530 Tuesday left two people dead and another injured.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the driver of a 2006 Nissan was headed south at about 2 p.m. when the car went off the roadway and hit a cable barrier near the exit for Dixon Road. The vehicle crossed both southbound lanes, rolled over and crashed into a tree.

Two passengers in the Nissan, identified as 85-year-old John Howell and 69-year-old Shirley White Banks, sustained fatal injuries. Both were Pine Bluff residents.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, AR – Arkansas State Police said a man died after his car was involved in a crash in Mississippi County Tuesday morning.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 65-year-old Danny Seaton was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet headed west on Arkansas 120 at about 8 a.m. State police said Seaton crossed over the center line and drove off the roadway, crashing into a utility pole.

Seaton, a Burdette resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR – One man was killed and another injured when their vehicle was involved in a crash in Randolph County early Sunday morning, reports KAIT8.

According to Arkansas State Police, 54-year-old Robert C. Collier was driving a Chevrolet north on Shelby Road at about 3:20 a.m. when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and crashed into a tree.

Collier, a Maynard resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.  A passenger in the vehicle, 43-year-old Jonathan E. Davis of Fairdealing, Missouri, was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center but no details were released on his condition.

HOT SPRINGS, AR – Police say a man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Hot Springs on Thursday evening, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports.

The incident occurred on U.S. 70-B at about 5:47 p.m. According to police, 60-year-old Claude W. Clauson III was attempting to cross the highway westbound when he was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet pickup truck.

Clauson, a Hot Springs resident, was pronounced dead after being rushed to CHI St. Vincent Hospital. Police said conditions were cloudy and dry at the time of the crash.
