DREW COUNTY, AR – Authorities said a child trying to catch a bus in Drew County Thursday morning was hit by a vehicle.

According to KATV, the incident occurred on Highway 425 North at about 6:15 a.m.  The Drew County Sheriff’s Office said a 10-year-old was trying to cross the highway to get on a school bus and was struck by a vehicle’s side-view mirror.

Deputies responded to the scene of the incident and transported the child to Drew Memorial Hospital in Little Rock.  The victim was reported to have sustained several broken bones but was expected to make a full recovery.

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police in Little Rock are asking for the public’s help in their investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident last month.

The police department tweeted details of the crash that occurred Dec. 11 on the I-30 Frontage Road westbound. The victim, identified as Daniel Trexler, was walking along the 9500 block of the roadway at about midnight when he was fatally struck by a vehicle.

BENTON, AR – Police say a driver left the scene after striking a pedestrian in Benton last week.

According to KARK, the incident took place Wednesday evening on Alcoa Road near Park Street at about 6:30 p.m.  No details were released on the condition of the pedestrian.

Benton police say they are looking for the vehicle involved, which was described as a dark-colored GMC Sierra.  Police added that the driver may not have been aware of the accident at the time.

LONOKE, Ark. — Arkansas State Police reported a woman was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 in Lonoke Thursday afternoon.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the victim stepped into the path of an eastbound Freightliner semi near mile marker 168 at about 4 p.m.

She was hit by the truck, which then jackknifed before coming to a stop in the right lane of the interstate.

FAYETTEVILLE, AR – Authorities said a Fayetteville man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Friday evening.

According to KNWA, 34-year-old Louis Garland was walking in the southbound lane of I-49 near Wedington when the incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m.

The Arkansas Department of Public Safety said Garland was hit by the front of a southbound Ford Taurus, then was struck again by an Acura MDX, sustaining fatal injuries. Neither of the two drivers was hurt in the accident.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Arkansas State Police said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in North Little Rock Saturday night.

According to The Daily Citizen, 28-year-old Jermaine Edwards of Searcy was in the middle of a lane of Interstate 40 east near the North Hills Boulevard exit when the incident occurred just after 5:45 p.m. Edwards was hit by an unknown vehicle that left the scene, state police said.

He was also struck in the roadway by a Mazda 3 and a Lexus, but troopers said it was the first vehicle that caused the fatal injuries.

HOT SPRINGS, AR – Police say a man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Hot Springs on Thursday evening, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports.

The incident occurred on U.S. 70-B at about 5:47 p.m. According to police, 60-year-old Claude W. Clauson III was attempting to cross the highway westbound when he was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet pickup truck.

Clauson, a Hot Springs resident, was pronounced dead after being rushed to CHI St. Vincent Hospital. Police said conditions were cloudy and dry at the time of the crash.

SEDGWICK, AR – Authorities are investigating a crash last week that killed a fire chief in Lawrence County, according to KAIT8.

The victim was 61-year-old Wesley E. Adams of Walnut Ridge, the Sedgwick Fire Department Chief. Authorities said he was directing traffic at the scene of a previous crash on U.S. Highway 63 on Dec. 6 when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla at 6:18 p.m.   The Corolla then hit a Ford CL 9000 truck.

Adams was pronounced dead the following day after being rushed to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. A 78-year-old woman who was in the Ford was injured in the collision.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Arkansas State Police said a pedestrian died in an accident Saturday night at a highway exit ramp in North Little Rock.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports the victim was identified as 47-year-old Biagio Festante of Lecanto, Florida. State troopers said the crash occurred as Festante was attempting to walk across the exit ramp from Interstate 440 east to U.S. 165 at about 5:50 p.m.

The crash report stated that the driver of a Ford Explorer SUV tried to swerve to avoid hitting Festante, but the front-right part of the vehicle ended up striking him.

FAYETTEVILLE, AR – A pedestrian was injured in a collision with a vehicle in Fayetteville Monday evening, KFSM reports.

Police responded to the scene in the area of 3400 East Huntsville Road after the incident occurred at about 5:41 p.m.  Investigators said the victim was a 55-year-old woman who was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Her name was not released.

The vehicle was driven by a 23-year-old who was not injured.  The driver said they did not see the woman because the road was dark at the time.
