RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR – Three vehicles were involved in a fatal collision on Highway 67 early Wednesday morning, according to KAIT.

Arkansas State Police said the driver of a GMC Yukon was headed north at about 12:25 a.m. when she attempted to pass another northbound vehicle, a Freightliner.  The Yukon crashed head-on into a Volvo tractor-trailer that was headed south, then hit the driver’s side of the Freightliner.

The driver of the Yukon, 25-year-old Megan Crawford of Ravenden Springs, was killed in the wreck. A passenger in her vehicle, 30-year-old Shane Owens of Powhatan, was hospitalized.

ALTUS, AR – A driver was killed when his truck was involved in a collision with another 18-wheeler in Johnson County Friday morning.

According to River Valley Now, the incident occurred on Interstate 40 east between mile markers 50 and 51 near Altus at about 7:43 a.m.

Investigators with the Arkansas State Police determined that the driver of a Peterbilt going east on I-40 veered off the roadway into the grass on the shoulder, then re-entered the eastbound lanes at a slow rate of speed.  The driver of an eastbound Kenworth 18-wheeler did not realize the Peterbilt was going at slow speed and slammed into the back of the truck, state troopers said.

LONOKE, Ark. — Arkansas State Police reported a woman was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 in Lonoke Thursday afternoon.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the victim stepped into the path of an eastbound Freightliner semi near mile marker 168 at about 4 p.m.

She was hit by the truck, which then jackknifed before coming to a stop in the right lane of the interstate.

VAN BUREN COUNTY, AR – An accident on a highway in Van Buren County Friday killed an elderly driver, reports KTLO.

The incident took place on Arkansas Highway 9 north of Shirley at about 1 p.m.  Arkansas State Police said the driver of an 18-wheeler was negotiating a curve, and when he applied his brakes the truck’s trailer slid across the center line of the roadway.  A van driven by 80-year-old Darla Furrer was headed in the opposite direction and collided with the front axle of the trailer.

Furrer, a Mountain View resident, was taken to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock where she was pronounced dead.  The driver of the 18-wheeler, whose name was not released, was not injured.  State troopers said the road was wet at the time of the crash.

LAKE VILLAGE, AR – Authorities are investigating a collision in Lake Village that killed two people on Thanksgiving morning, according to a report by SEARK Today.

The accident occurred near the intersection of U.S. 65 and U.S. 82 west at about 7:40 a.m.  The Arkansas State Police said 26-year-old Karena M. Everett of Pine Bluff was driving a Hyundai when she failed to yield at a red light.  The Hyundai collided head-on with a northbound Peterbilt truck that was making a left turn with a green arrow onto U.S. 82.

Everett and her passenger, 23-year-old Diamante Estrellas of Little Rock, both sustained fatal injuries.  State police said the roads were wet during rainy weather at the time of the crash.

LITTLE ROCK, AR – A truck driver from Dumas was killed in a single-vehilce crash near Little Rock on Monday morning.

According to the Magnolia Reporter, 51-year-old Gregory Bess was traveling north on I-530 when he lost control of his 2001 Peterbilt truck. The truck then veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.

Bess was pronounced dead at the scene.
