News: Vehicle crashes and catches fire on Arkansas 10, killing passenger

YELL COUNTY, AR – Arkansas State Police said a passenger in a car died Monday in a crash on Arkansas 10 in Yell County.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the incident occurred near the intersection with South Baskin Creek Road at about 8:15 a.m.

State troopers said a 36-year-old man was driving an Isuzu westbound when he ran off the road to the right while trying to negotiate a curve and hit an embankment. The vehicle went across a driveway, hit a fence, then collided with a support line and a tree, causing it to catch fire.

A passenger, whose name was not released, sustained fatal injuries. The 36-year-old driver, a Casa man, was injured but no further details were released on his condition.
